Its great that Catanduanes State Colleges took the challenge of spearheading the research and development of abaca. This natural fiber has been the source of livelihood of many of our poor farmers for decades. In fact, this breakthrough could make our province elevate its position as one of the major producers of processed abaca instead of raw materials.
